The Salvation Army Church marks 100 years since establishment in Kenya

President William Ruto was among the many dignitaries who joined members of the Salvation Army Church on Sunday March 3,2024 in celebrating 100 years since establishment.
The colourful event took place at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Speaking during the event, President Ruto lauded the church for the support it has continued to give through various charity work.
He reiterated the importance of church complementing the government in health and education sectors through various schools and health facilities.
The President vowed to continue working closely with religious institutions on matters development.
“The role of the church in shaping society cannot be ignored at any point.My Administration will continue working closely with religious leaders towards improved livelihoods of our people,” he stated.

On his part, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja commended Salvation Army Church for always caring about the vulnerable including persons physically challenged in society through the various special schools established.
He pointed out that church is a very key foundation of the society.
“As Nairobi County Government, we commit to work together in areas of humanity uplifting,” stated Sakaja.

The event was also attended by the International Leader of the Salvation Army General Lyndon Buckingham, Territorial Commander Col. Daniel Kiama and thousands of faithful.
Founded by William Booth and Catherine Booth, the Salvation Army continues to distinguish itself in service to humanity, the fight against poverty and its ministry to the less fortunate.
