Cheering Kenya Simbas

Day 1 of the long-awaited Great Rift 10-a-side has come to an end on a high note after Kenya Simbas thrashed Zimbabwe Goshawks 48-7.

The fixtures that were being played in Nakuru saw hundreds of fans from all over the country come together to cheer the Kenyan side to victory.

Led by officials from the Nakuru County Government, the energy-filled fans cheered their Kenya Simbas to victory as they also kept the arena alive.

The county officials were led by the Ag. County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura and included the CEC for Sports, Josephine Achieng, Chief Officer for Sports Stella Mwaura and several other Chief Officers among other staff.  A number of MCAs were also in attendance.

Governor Susan Kihika in her manifesto has promised to support youth and sporting activities as a way of nurturing talent, creating employment and keeping young people positively engaged.

Zimbabwe Goshawks are a perennial opponent to the Kenyans in the 10-a-side, and each side has won and lost an equal number of matches.
