Land ownership conflicts in Nakuru County will be a thing of the past following the establishment of a committee to fast track the issuance of title deeds across the County.
The committee dubbed ‘land titling standing committee’ is expected to resolve land disputes and hasten the issuance of the title deeds.
This even as the County Government in conjunction with the national Government currently undertaking an ambitious titling programme aimed at ensuring all deserving residents acquire title deeds.
The programme will benefit 200,000 Nakuru residents, who have waited for years to acquire the crucial ownership document.
The county Department of Lands has appealed to all eligible land owners to submit the necessary documents so as to benefit from the Initiative.
According to a statement, those targeted include the Internally Displaced Persons, the elderly, land buying companies and other individuals.
One is required to submit:
a)Duly filled application for official search
b)Proof of land ownership(sale agreement if the applicant is the 2nd owner of the land)
c) Pin certificate(COPY)
d)Identification Card(COPY)
e)3 copies of coloured passport photo
Lands Chief Officer Judyleah Waihenya, said they want to ensure that no deserving group or individual is left out of the programme.
“The task ahead of us is enormous and we want to ensure that Nakuru residents benefit from the sanctity of a title deed,” she said.
Meanwhile,a titling desk has been set up in the land offices located at Nakuru town’s Ardhi House, 3rd floor, room 17.
