
Over 2000 salons and beauty shops will benefit from protective equipment s donated by the county government of Nakuru.
They include sanitizers and facemasks.
Speaking on Monday when he flagged off the items, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui said this is in line with measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.
He noted that salons and barbershops which were ordered to reopen 2 weeks ago must adhere to the protective guidelines to avert the spread of the virus.
“As a county, we have donated sanitation equipment for the salons and barbers in Nakuru in the fight against the spread of COVID-19,” said Kinyanjui.
2125 salons in Nakuru East and West will benefit.
Kinyanjui noted that Nakuru county has a lot of the Small medium enterprises hence need for protective equipment.
Ms Regina Orina representing the salonists commending the county for the same.
She said this will go a long way in ensuring safety against COVID-19 while at work.
“We are very grateful to the county government for donations,” she said.
