Jubilee leaders-affiliated to DP vow to rally against BBI move

Jubilee leaders affiliated to the Deputy President Dr. William Arap Ruto on Saturday vowed to rally their support against the push by the Building Bridges Initiative that came after the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM chief Raila Odinga.

Speaking at All Saints Catholic Church in Kabazi Subukia Sub County in Nakuru, the leaders led by Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika said that the public participation that was conduct by BBI is wanting saying that they never reached out to get the opinion of the common mwananchi.

Kihika has appealed to Kenyans to come out in large numbers to vote against the BBI referendum saying that it is aimed at creating seats for few individuals instead of addressing issues that are pressing the local mwanachi.

“If they come to you for referendum through that thing called BBI vote against it so that it does not sail through” said Kihika.

Kihika’s sentiments echoed by Kikuyu Mp Kimani Ichungw’a who said that he will be on the forefront of rallying Kenyans to vote against the BBI agenda in the referendum.

“As MP for Kikuyu I never promised my people that I will agitate for change of constitution that only aims at benefiting a few people” said Ichungw’a.

On his side Molo Mp Francis Kuria Kimani said that they will only support a referendum that will address the issues that directly benefit the lives of the common Kenyan.

However, in his address Deputy President William Ruto called upon leaders in the country to cool down the political temperatures that have been catalyzed by BBI referendum.

According to the DP, politics of division will bring more harm to the economy of the country.

“There is no room for politics of division in this country. What we need to focus on is development agenda” said DP Ruto.

The leaders were speaking during a funds drive at All Saints Catholic in Kabazi.
