MCA Mbae calls for understanding between school heads and parents over fees as schools re-open

Kabazi ward MCA Dr.Peter Mbae has welcomed the government’s move to have schools re-open for grade 4,class 8 and Form 4.

The MCA is however quick to note that due to COVID-19,parents might not be able to meet school fees.

He has therefore appealed to school heads to be understanding.

“We know there has been harsh times and that is why we are calling on school heads to be understanding” he said.

In a statement to newsrooms on Wednesday morning,Mbae noted that the education sector has greatly been affected.

But with the phase reopening of schools,he adds much that had been lost moreso for this year’s candidates will be recovered.

He adds that parents should not focus much on school fees but also think about their children who are sitting national exams.

“The re-opening of schools is key as it will help to ensure the lost time is compensated and moreso for our candidates” said Mbae.

On Tuesday Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha announced that schools will re-open on October 12,2020 for grade 4,class 8 and Form 4-a move that ahas elicited mixed reactions among parents.
