MCA urges youths to tap into government opportunities

Kaptembwa MCA Peter Kajwang’ has challenged youths in the area to come out of their comfort zones and tap into various available government opportunities.

Speaking on Monday at Nakuru West Secondary school during graduation of 20 students who were sponsored by Ward Bursary Kitty to study various courses at Vera Technical Training College, Kajwang’ noted that education is key in transforming the society.

“The youths should now use the skills they acquire through such opportunities to propel them to the next level” said Kajwang’.

He cited that all the 20 students who were sponsored at Vera Technical Training College successfully completed their various technical courses including Fashion and design, Cosmetology and hairdressing, Journalism and Mass Media, information Communication Technology (ICT) and Hospitality and Catering Management.

The MCA reiterating his commitment towards youth empowerment in Kaptembwa Ward of Nakuru West sub county.

Kajwang’ also using the opportunity to urge other leaders to emulate the same and ensure youth empowerment for a better society.

“Education and technical training is the only way we can transform the society. I urge other leaders to follow suit” he said.

Director Vera Technical Training College Ms Mercy Makena Chweya reiterating the need for yotuhs to continue seeking skill based techniques.

According to Ms Chweya, skill-based techniques are the best to transform the current society.

She challenged youths to always aim higher in matters education and technical training.

“Education is progressive and when you have certificate, go for Diploma and the others. You should always aim higher” she said.

Sentiments echoed by Nakuru Town West ODM politician Hezron Okiki and Nakuru West Secondary Parents and Teachers Association Chairman Joakim Mbalilwa.

The duo stating that there are many opportunities that come with education and youths should maximize on them.

This financial year, Kaptembwa Ward has allocated Sh 4 million towards bursary with the office of MCA Kajwang’ vowing to support youths.
