Why I am the best choice for Senate – Susan Kihika

Nakuru County Assembly speaker Susan Kihika has today explained why she is best suited to be the next Nakuru County Senator.

As she traversed the vast Njoro sub-county which is one of the 11 sub-counties in Nakuru County on Friday, Kihika explained to the residents why she is best suited. She was on a tour to mobilize residents who have not registered as voters to do it.

Starting at Njoro township where she addressed Jubilee Party aspirants and opinion leaders, Kihika explained that as a trained lawyer who has even worked for the US government, she aptly fits the role of representation which is one of the mandates of a senator.

“One of the mandates of a senator is to make laws. As a trained lawyer who has in the past worked for the US government before setting up my own law firm, I fully understand what it means to play the role of representation,” said Kihika adding that the skills also made her ideal as a law maker.

“In the past four years, I have been presiding over the County assembly which is the law making organ in our county. This experience will be very useful when making laws concerning our county and country,” added Kihika.

The senatorial candidate who is so far the leading candidate in the race also explained that with her years at the assembly, she is the only one of the aspirants who fully understands the challenges the county is facing.

“With my four years’ experience heading the assembly, I know very well what challenges Nakuru is facing. I will lobby for resources knowing very well what Nakuru needs,” said Susan Kihika.

Another role that the senator plays is that of oversight. Kihika has revealed that this is almost similar to what the county assembly has been doing.

“I understand the complexities in running a county government. This makes me the best choice for senate come August this year and I trust you will give me your votes,” Said Kihika.

The outspoken youthful Kihika won the hearts of many residents in Njoro when she promised to stand with the president if elected and protect him from those who always verbally attack him.

“For those who knew my father, I am as fearless as him. I will stand and protect the president from those who are always out to insult him,” said the courageous and outspoken Kihika.
