The County Government of Nakuru will carry out a thorough audit of resources directed towards the fight of COVID-19 within the county
Governor Lee Kinyanjui said that all those charged with the responsibility of handling and managing of COVID-19 resources will be held responsible for any mismanagement that may arise.
He said that at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic he will invite auditors to carry out an extensive audit of all the funds and any other resources that would have been used.
Kinyanjui called on members of the public to be vigilant and help his administration to ensure prudent use of COVID -19 resources by reporting any suspected form of misuse of funds by those in charge.
At the same time,Kinyanjui put on notice those charged with the responsibility of distributing relief food to vulnerable members of the society.
He reminded them that only those in need should be given the donations saying that he would not allow diversion of food items and any other support meant for the needy persons
This come days after complains were raised on the process of listing persons who were to benefit from the county relief food.
On Monday,Governor Kinyanjui launched the county relief food distribution to the vulnerable families with members of the Muslim community being the first beneficiaries.
