Nakuru MCAs call on MPs Sudi, Ng’eno to seek atonement from elders

Two Nakuru MCAs have called on Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Emurua Dikiir counterpart Johanna Ng’eno to seek an atonement from elders over sentiments they made that might derail peace efforts in the country.

Kabazi MCA Dr.Peter Mbae and his Naivasha East counterpart Stanley Karanja while addressing media jointly at the Nakuru County assembly grounds said the sentiments issued by the two legislators does not mean good for the country.

Mbae noted that Rift valley region was hit by the 2007/2008 post-election violence and no one would like to go that direction again through utterances being made by some leaders.

He said the two Legislators Oscar Sudi (Kapseret) and Johanna Ng’eno (Emurua Dikiir) sought atonement from elders to put their ways in order.

“We have heard enough and it is time as leaders we also watch our utterances. As leaders in Rift Valley we cannot allow utterances that will derail peace efforts in place. We are therefore appealing to the two MPs to seek atonement from elders so that they can repent over the sentiments” said Mbae.

Dr.Mbae who has a background in matters of peace and reconciliation studies calling on all politicians to shun divisive utterances.

He said the relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto should be left to the two leaders to handle and that such should not divide Kenyans at grassroot.

“Our two Leaders President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto know what they have for Kenyans ahead of 2022.So as leaders let us be slow in our utterances lest we mess this country” he said.

Sentiments echoed by Naivasha East MCA Stanley Karanja who stated that the Presidency is protected by the Constitution of Kenya and should be respected by all.

He says anyone who goes ahead to abuse the institution of Presidency should face the full force of the law.

While reiterating the need for peaceful co-existence in the country, the Naivasha East MCA called for stern action on all those who have abused the Presidency to avert any further such utterances.

He has also called for the immediate sacking of Environment CS Keriako Tobiko over his sentiments in Narok concerning Deputy President William Ruto who is also part of Presidency

“Anyone who abuses the Presidency goes against the Constitution and should be prosecuted as per the law” said Karanja.

Police officers in Transmara East arrested Ng’eno over incitement which he made over the weekend regarding President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family and on Tuesday Morning he was brought to Nakuru Central Police station.

Ng’eno had hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for the wrangles in the Jubilee Party.
