Speaker Kairu leads MCAs in paying last respect to Karanja Mburu

Nakuru County assembly speaker Joel Maina Kairu on Friday led MCAs in paying last tribute to the late Lakeview ward MCA Karanja Mburu who perished last Sunday through a road accident.

The burial service was held at ACK Naivasha before the final rest at his farm in Karate.

While condoling with friends, relatives and family, speaker Kairu eulogised the late MCA a kind person who was always jovial and friendly to people around him.

He termed the late one of the MCAs who played a major role in the legislative work by tabling a Bill and sponsoring several motions aimed at transforming the livelihoods of Nakuru residents.

It is for this reason that Speaker Kairu has vowed to ensure the Nakuru County Disaster and Emergency Management Bill which is at the second reading stage goes through the final stage and becomes law in honour of the late.

“In his honour, we will as the assembly ensure the bill goes through and becomes law so as to accomplish Karanja Mburu’s dreams,” said Speaker Kairu.

On his part, Flamingo Ward MCA Eddy Kiragu who was a close friend of the late MCA Karanja Mburu termed the late as an icon.

While paying his last tribute, Kiragu added that the late was a vibrant, focused, open-minded and energetic leader.

“He wanted a better Lakeview ward, a better county assembly, a better Nakuru and a better Kenya as a whole,” said Kiragu.

The Flamingo Ward MCA stating that the death of Karanja Mburu is a big blow to the youth in Nakuru.

He, however, was quick to note that the death of Mburu is not just an accident but several questions are left unanswered on what might have transpired.

Similar sentiments echoed by Naivasha’s Viwandani ward MCA Erick Gichuki who termed the late as an elder brother.

MCA vowing to continue ensuring that the dreams of Karanja Mburu for the people of Lakeview, Naivasha and  Nakuru as a whole are achieved.

MCA Mburu died of excessive internal bleeding, postmortem reveals

Naivasha’s Lakeview ward MCA Karanja Mburu died  died out of excessive internal bleeding from raptured right lung and liver caused by seven fractured ribs on the right and one on the left.

This is according to the postmortem conducted on his body on Tuesday at Umash Funeral Home.

The results also indicate  dislocation of the right shoulder and superficial seat belt injury on the chest.

It also shows that he lost 1.5 litres of blood in the chest cavity and 1litre in the abdominal cavity.

The Steering Committee for his burial arrangements after consultations has resolved that the late Karanja Mburu burial service will be held at ACK Church Naivasha and burial at his Nyondia farm in the area.

All measures on COVID-19 will be adhered to with only 15 people allowed to attend.

“Due to the prevailing measures occasioned by COVID-19 disease and following consultations with both County Commissioner and Regional Commissioner, only 15 persons will be present during the burial service representing the family, clergy and selected leaders” read the statement.

According to Kabazi Ward MCA Dr.Peter Mbae who is also a member of the committee, arrangements shall be made to have the burial service broadcast on NakuruTV live on facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

The committee has  thanked all who have supported them  and the family in prayers, words of encouragement and financial support.

Jubilee Party Secretary General calls for independent postmortem to establish cause of MCA Karanja’s death

Nakuru Jubilee Party Branch Secretary General Mtumishi Kiplangat Cheruiyot has called for immediate independent post moterm to establish the cause of Lakeview Ward MCA Karanja Mburu’s death.

Through a phone interview immediately after the body was transferred to Umash Funeral Home in Nakuru, Cheruiyot says the immediate investigations into the matter is crucial.

He says this can not just be treated as a mere accident as many leaders are best drivers on the roads.

While terming the deceased a brilliant leader who always spoke spoke out his mind in matters governance in Nakuru county, Cheruiyot says the sudden death leaves several questions unanswered.

“He was one of the brilliant MCAs in Nakuru and a vocal critic on matters governance to ensure transparency.So we are demanding immediate independent post moterm so that we can determine the truth” said Cheruiyot.

The Nakuru Jubilee Party official says there are several critical questions that need to be answered concerning the death of MCA Karanja Mburu as it just recently that he was appointed to chair Covid19 ad-hoc committee of 11 on disaster and emergency response.

Among them is the question of who the MCA had last communicated with, where the MCA was headed at those early hours of a sun while no church services, the state his vehicle was in the day before, where did he spend the night, whom did he communicated too when he woke up early, as well as the first person that relayed the information concerning the accident and death.
