Police launch investigations into the suspected murder case of a 52-year old woman in Njoro

Police in Nakuru are investigating an incident in which a 52-year old woman was found dead in her house in Piave-Njoro Sub County in unclear circumstances.

According to Nakuru County Police commander Stephen Matu, the woman identified as Ruth Kinyua had gone missing for three days.

Addressing media on Wednesday, the Nakuru County Police Commander stated that the sister to the deceased had informed the police that she suspected the deceased was in the house where she stayed alone.

The police officers visited the scene at 11pm and broke the door of the house to get into the house only to find the body of the deceased.

Matu says they suspect the woman was murdered as had her hands were tied and a blood-stained knife beside the body.

The County police Commander has appealed to members of the public who might have any information concerning suspects behind the murder to report to the nearest police station.

“We suspect the woman was murdered as per the scene of crime. We are investigating the matter so that the culprits can be arrested and arraigned” said Matu.

The body of the deceased was taken to Egerton University Mortuary as i9nvestigations into the incident continue.

The incident has left locals of Sunrise Piave in Njoro Sub County in shock.
