DP Ruto allies sound stern warning to police ahead of London, Hells Gate by-elections

Politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto’s new political formation United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have warned police officers in Nakuru West against interfering with forthcoming London Ward By-elections.

Speaking in Nakuru on Monday during a final meeting to drum support for UDA candidate for the London seat Anthony Nzuki Wachira, the legislators led by Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika claimed the police in Nakuru West were being used to interfere with the by-elections.

While citing an incident in which police lobbed tears disrupting UDA’s meeting in the area, Kihika maintained that no any intimidation will deter them from ensuring change in political arena.

She told off Nakuru West Sub county Police Commander Samuel Gathuku over the incident urging him to concentrate on security matters and leave matters politics to the politicians.

“We cannot have an OCPD who is being used to intimidate elected leaders. Let him keep off politics and concentrate on security issues”

On the March 4th by-elections, Kihika called on London and Hells Gate Wards’ residents to rally behind UDA candidates for development o be realized.

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot stated that time is now to end political intimidation in the country.

Cheruiyot once gain taking an issue with Nakuru West OCPD for claims that he is being used by a section of leaders to intimidate UDA leaders.

The Kericho Senator vowing to take action and ensue Independent Police oversight Authority takes action against the officer.

“We all have a duty to ensure an end to intimidation of hustler nation by voting in Nzuki and supporting UDA. We want to tell off the police led by OCPD Nakuru West for messing political leaders. After By-elections in London we shall ensure that the IPOA takes action” he said.

Sentiments echoed by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who called for need to respect all Kenyans.

Murkomen wondered why police were using force against elected leaders allied to DDP William Ruto.

“We believe in and respect Kenyans. OCPD Nakuru West on notice. Police should not interfere with Thursday by-elections in London” stated Murkmen.

On his part Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua urging London residents not to fear coming out in large numbers to vote in Nzuki on Thursday.

According to Gachagua, Wachira Nzuki’s victory is victory for Hustler nation towards 2022 politics.

“We will not watch as police continue to intimidate innocent Kenyans. All officer messing up hustler nation on notice” said Gachagua.

Other leaders who addressed during the meeting included MPs Mathias Robi (Kuria West),Cecily Mbarire(Nominated),Ndindi Nyoro(Kiharu),Kimani Ichungwa(Kikuyu),Liza Chelule(Nakuru Woman Rep),Nixon Korir(Langata),George Theuri(Embakasi West) and Rahab Mukami(Nyeri Woman Rep).

The leaders allied to UDA vowing to camp in Nakuru’s London and Hells Gate wards to ensure victory for UDA candidates come March 4.

 

ODM to back Jubilee candidates in London,Hells Gate by-elections

The orange Democratic Movement Party has vowed to support Jubilee candidates for the London and Hellsgate Wards by-elections.

ODM Nakuru branch Chairman Peter ole Sono who spoke in London ward on Saturday, said they will support Francis Njoroge for the seat as well as Virginia Gicanga for Hells Gate.

He said the move is in line with handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

“As ODM we listened to our party leader and as such we shall be supporting Jubilee candidates for London and Hells Gate by-elections” said Ole Sono.

Ole Sono also took the opportunity to slam UDA’s Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.

According to him, no one will go against the President’s agenda and succeed.

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria while drumming support for Njoroge during a meeting held at Nakuru Town West Samuel Arama’s home, said it is the only way to ensure development in London ward.

Gikaria added that Njoroge is well experienced in matters politics as he once served in the position.

He called on opponents to shun divisive politics saying such have no room in the current nation.

“Everyone has a right to seek votes but should be with decorum. We don’t need divisive politics and abuses” said Gikaria.

On the BBI Bill, the Legislator stated they are waiting for the Bill at the assembly to pass it.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on his part stating the need for youths such as Njoroge to take up political leadership.

He called on London Ward residents to vote in Njoroge come March 4 for development to be realized.

“London ward residents, you are the people who will make change by voting in Njoroge who am sure he won’t let you down” said Owino.

On BBI, Owino lauded the handshake saying it has ensured peace.

He said those against the BBI are ill advised and time is now they wake up from slumber and join the train.

“The country has gone through a lot of electoral injustices and that is why we are saying BBI is the way to address such” said Owino.

Makadara MP George Aladwa echoed Ole Sono’s sentiments that ODM will rally behind Jubilee’s candidate Njoroge.

The Legislator reiterating that they are in full support of President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“We are in ODM and we respect what our party leader has said that we support Jubilee candidates in London and Hellsgate” said Aladwa.

Kieni MP Kaneni Kega on his part taking an issue with a section of leaders allied to Deputy Pesident William Ruto.

According to the lawmaker, it was wrong for leaders to show disrespect to the head of state.

He also called on DP Ruto to be clear on BBI and make a choice whether supporting or he leads the NO team.

Sentiments echoed by nominated MP Maina Kamanda.

Kamanda revealing that those who have shown disrespect to Jubilee Party have dug their own political grave towards 2022 and that they should resign.

“Those who are defiant to Jubilee have no room for 2022” said Kamanda.

The host MP Samuel Arama on his part reminding the residents of London ward and Nakuru West at large of the tremendous development initiated under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

It is for this reason that he urged residents to rally support behind Jubilee Candidate Francis Njoroge.

“We will have a roadshow on Sunday and drum support for Njoroge as Jubilee candidate. The President has ensured development in this area and as residents we have a role to ensure the London Ward Jubilee seat is retained.

The meeting was also attended by Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju who urged locals to keep off deceitful political leaders who have nothing to offer.

The London Ward seat fell vacant following the death of MCA Sammy Mbugua.
