Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has appointed Dr.Daniel Wainaina acting Chief Officer Public Health.
In a statement to newsrooms on Thursday,Kinyanjui stated,”this is to inform the public that Dr.Daniel Wainaina has been appointed acting Chief Officer Public Health immediately.”
The position fell vacant following the demise of Samuel King’ori.
King’ori succumbed to COVID-19 complications at the Nairobi Hospital.
Until his appointment, Dr.Wainaina was the acting cou ty director of medical services.
Dr.Wainaina holds a Bachelor of Medicine and surgery as well as Masters in Public Health.
In the appointment notice,Governor Kinyanjui termed him an experienced medic who has worked as Medical officer (Nakuru Level 5 Hospital),Senior Medical officer (Eldoret East) and Deputy County Director Medical Services (Nakuru).
