The County Government has partnered with MkulimaYoung, a digital agriculture based marketplace in which farmers are advised to register freely.
Through the platform marketing of farm products directly to buyers and sellers has been made easy as well as creating opportunities of interaction and creating networks in agriculture.
Registration is fairly simple and farmers are expected to visit their website on MkulimaYoung.com or download the MkulimaYoung app using their android smart phones.
They will be required to fill out a few details and will be able to get farming advice from experts upon enquiry.
The ICT based platform aims to provide a stable market for produce amid the COVID19 pandemic and curb brokers.
MkulimaYoung is expected to work closely with County extension officers to help farmers in marketing their farm produce
In line with the modernization of agriculture and technological advancements, the county government of Nakuru set up a digital care center where farmers can make inquiries about any thing related to agriculture.
The call center relays first hand information to farmer via short messages and other social networks.
Digitization of agriculture has been billed as one way of getting young people into farming as one way of fighting unemployment in the country.
