A Nakuru MCA has rolled out a fumigation exercise that is targeting public open spaces, streets ,markets and matatu stages in a bid to curb the spread of the corona virus.
Lake View Ward MCA Karanja Mburu rolled out the fumigation exercise that targets public spaces within Naivasha town as the number of corona virus infections in the country hit 50 persons.
Speaking when he launched the exercise,Mburu said that it is critical for every Kenyan to take precaution and support efforts by the national and county governments in combating the spread of the virus.
“I want we maintain cleanliness in all open public spaces which are busy so that we can contain this virus. The program will run for a month,”he said.
He noted that the fumigation exercise was crucial in Naivasha considering its high population density which he said puts it at risk.
He called on Naivasha residents to heed to governments directives being issued by the ministry of health saying that it was for their own good.
Mburu challenged the county government of Nakuru to roll out fumigation of the entire exercise especially public spaces.
Last week the MCA had mobilized food stuffs for vulnerable persons in slum areas within Naivasha especially those who were laid off by flower farms as a result of  COVID -19 .
