The government has sounded a stern warning to contractors who have tendency of shoddy work.
Principal Secretary State Department of Housing and Urban Development Charles Hinga says all contractors doing government contracts should ensure quality as well as finish projects within stipulated time.
Speaking in Nakuru on Wednesday during a ground breaking ceremony for construction of modern market worth Sh 600 million,the PS warned that those who will go shortcut and deliver shoddy work will face the law.
“Already we have our officers following up on all our projects and any shoddy work will not be tolerated” said Hinga.
He added that the tax payer must feel value for money in every government project.
The PS also took issue with the delay of projects.
“Contractors should ensure they complete projects in stipulated time without delays” he said.
