Co-op Bank donates Sh100m towards the fight of COVID-19

Co-operative Bank has become the first corporate to act towards fighting COVID-19.

The Corporate has contributed sh 100 million to the COVID-19 emergency Fund.

Through a statement,the Co-operative Bank noted the critical moment in the country.

“This is critical moment for our country Kenya.The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic is the biggest crisis of our time particularly in the effort to source critical life saving Medical supplies and equipment especially ventilators that are in short supply globally” read the statement.

The statement signed by co-operative Bank Group Managing Director Dr.Gideon Muriuki also appreciates the gallant efforts of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the fight.

The group says the formation of Emergency Response Fund Committee gives Kenyans hope.

“The Board of Directors and staff of Co-op Bank is honoured to support with a key cash of Ksh 100 million preferably to be allocated towards purchase of critical ventilators”

The Co-op Bank has also made a request and appeal to other corporate Institution and Kenyans of goodwill to join hands and support this most worthy once-in-a generation fight.
