The second edition of Stanbic Nakuru City Marathon will take place on November 27, 2022.
Speaking during the launch, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika lauded Stanbic Bank who are the title sponsors of the event for choosing Nakuru.
Kihika noted that sports was key in her agenda of transforming Nakuru county through nurturing young talents.
“As Nakuru County we appreciate Stanbic Bank as the title sponsors of the event and the other partners who are coming on board to actualize this important event in our calendar. Sports and sporting activities are a major agenda in my administration and the Marathon will go a long way in realizing this agenda” she said.
It is during the event that Governor Kihika revealed that her administration will be ensure improved sporting activities among them the Naivasha Sports Complex and Afraha Stadium.
This, she said is the only way to ensure talents among young people is nurtured.
On his part Chief Executive Stanbic Bank Charles Mudiwa revealed that the second edition will have categories of 20, 10 and 5 kilometers.
He appealed to those who would like to participate to ensure they register as registration is now open.
