SPEAK KENYA on Thursday November 13 joined partners in Kasarani, Naivasha to mark Children’s Service Month.
The event was led by the Judiciary and Naivasha Law Courts.
It brought together CSOs, counsellors, government departments, religious leaders, children, and community members.
All, with aim to raise awareness on children’s rights and the need for collective action in care and protection.
Speaking during the event Lady Justice Grace Nzioka who was the Chief Guest affirmed the Judiciary’s commitment to dedicating November each year to addressing children’s cases in courts.
She also pointed out the importance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in resolving children’s matters early.
Justice Nzioka reiterated that local administrators among them chiefs play key role in creating awareness at barazas as a prevention measure.
She also commended CSOs for the great work they do in promoting children’s rights in schools and communities.
The event was also graced by representatives from the ODPP, LSK Naivasha Chapter, Directorate of Children Services, healthcare providers, prisons, and probation departments, all echoing the call for collective efforts in addressing children’s issues.
