Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has promised Hawkers and other small traders goodies.
Kihika who has declared interest in the Nakuru Gubernatorial seat come 2022 said the Small and medium enterprises are key in driving the economy.
“They are genuine business people making a legitimate income from their daily toil. Thousands of families are making a living from these hustles and we thank all who support these traders” she said.
Kihika noted that unfortunately, for many years, these traders have been criminalised.
She condemned county government for harrassing the traders.
According to her, In the Bottom Up Economic model, such traders will be appreciated as they have the potential to grow and support the national economy.
She was speaking when she met with traders who were evicted from their trading grounds earlier this year in Elburgon town.
“We shall decriminalize their ventures and provide them with dignified places to carry out their trade. Every hustle matters” stated Kihika.
