
A new report released by Sarambei-based Dandelion Africa NGO indicates a major boost in maternal and infant healthcare in Baringo County.S
The Report dubbed Dandelion Africa Annual Report 2024, indicates a major strengthened healthcare systems in Baringo where the organization has been partnering with the County Government of Baringo.

According to the Report, there has been strengthened Maternal and Infant Health in Baringo County.
A total 77 high-volume health facilities were provided with training in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care courtesy of Dandelion Africa NGO.
The aim was to address the issues of maternal and infant mortality in partnership with Lwala Community Alliance.
“Our efforts concentrated on Baringo County, which is recognized as an area
with high maternal mortality rates,” states the report.
It further indicates that a total of 300 healthcare professionals underwent training and supervision, leading to notable improvements in maternal health reporting and service delivery, thereby enhancing the
overall quality of care.
Reproductive health coordinators and data managers have also reviewed maternal and infant health indicators, supported by mentorship and ongoing skills development.
The report which is released by the NGO annually, reveals that continuous Medical Education and on job training have further enhanced the capacity of healthcare providers.
According to the report, a 100% audit of perinatal cases has improved vigilance, accountability, and multi-sectoral collaboration among health facilities.
“These efforts, combined with ongoing Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response and adoption of best practices, are poised to sustain and amplify
progress in maternal and infant health outcomes.
