160,000 vulnerable families will benefit from relief food from county government of Nakuru.
This even as county government on Thursday started distribution of relief food to benefit families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes job losses.
According Governor Lee Kinyanjui,Menengai East Ward will be the first ward to receive the food where 2000 families will benefit.
“My administration allocated Ksh 250 million to 160,000 families across the County” said Kinyanjui.
Disbursement of food to other wards will continue as from Friday.
Kinyanjui added that already the county together with ward Committees have profiled all beneficiaries.
According to Kinyanjui,the purchase of these items is also an economic stimulus for the county because all the food and non-food items were bought in Nakuru.
Be reiterated the County’s commitment in ensuring due process is strictly adhered to in the procurement of the foodstuffs.
