Registrar of political parties Anne Nderitu is on Friday expected to issue a ruling on who are the legitimate office holders of the FORD KENYA party.
Earlier this week,Nderitu had ordered for the maintenance of the status quo after two rival factions submitted documents alleging changes in the party leadership.
Party leader Moses Wetangula’s faction submitted documents instituting changes where party Secretary General Eseli Simiyu had been replaced by Chris Wamalwa.
On the other hand, Eseli and his faction submitted documents after they replaced party leader Moses Wetangula and replaced him with Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi.
In her ruling Nderitu is expected to look at the constitutionality of the alleged changes by both sides before making a determination.
The Wetangula faction has accused ODM leader Raila Odinga and COTU boss Francis Atwoli of being behind the wrangles within the party something which has been dismissed by both Raila and Atwoli.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi rushed to defend Wetangula and accused outsiders of using unorthodox means to destabilize the FORD Kenya party.
The Eseli led faction has said that they will respect the ruling by the registrar of political parties.
The tussle for FORD Kenya is being blamed on the power tussle between Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
Wetangula is said to be eyeing the Bungoma governorship in the 2022 elections
