The government is engaging stakeholders including health professionals to ensure successful rollout of Taifa Care, Kenya’s most consequential programme for attainment of universal health coverage.
Periodic review of the status of registration into Taifa Care, the constraints on the roll-out, and their resolution modalities, as well as the concerns of health sector professionals remains crucial.
This was revealed on Friday November 29, 2024 as the Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki received progress reports on various aspects of the implementation of the Taifa Care Programme.
The DP held high level consultations on modalities of addressing the concerns being raised by the public, health workers and other stakeholders.
The meeting was also attended by Ministry of Health leadership led by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Deborah Barasa, Principal Secretaries Harry Kimtai (Medical Services) and Mary Muthoni(Public Health and Professional Standards) and other senior officials.
