Pres. Ruto: We’re leveraging Public-Private partnership to modernize hospital equipment

The government is leveraging on public-private partnerships towards upgrade and modernizing hospital equipment.

President William Ruto says this is the way to go in ensuring quality services to the people.

Speaking at Nakuru Level 5 hospital on Wednesday October 29 when he launched state-of-the-art CT scan unit, the Head of State maintained that his administration is committed towards service delivery to the people.

“We are leveraging public-private partnerships to upgrade and modernize hospital equipment, ensuring quality healthcare for Kenyans,” he stated.

Under this model, private players are installing and maintaining critical medical equipment, with hospitals only paying for the services delivered.

The President commissioned a KSh130 million modern CT Scan Unit at Nakuru County Referral and Teaching Hospital.

According to President, this state-of-the-art machine, acquired through this innovative partnership, will double the hospital’s capacity to 100 scans a day.

It also includes a heart treatment kit and is powered by AI technology.

He added that his administration will install over 70 such advanced machines in health facilities across the country under the same model, strengthening access to modern healthcare for all Kenyans.
