Pomp and colour as Nakuru ODM Youth League members treat Hope Patience and Joy Children and Rescue Centre kids to early Christmas

It was pomp and colour at Hope Patience and Joy Children and Rescue Centre in Gilgil Subcounty of Nakuru on Saturday December 13, 2025 as members of ODM Nakuru County League joined children at the centre with goodies.

The members prepared lunch at the centre’s kitchen, mingled freely with the children through songs and dance before they served and enjoyed lunch together with the centres fraternity.

It was a moment of joy, laughter and understanding some history about the centre.

To the kids at the centre, it was Christmas come early.

Speaking to famousnakuru.co.ke during the event, ODM Nakuru County Youth League Leader Suleiman Wangila termed the event as a success.

He thanked ODM youth office and the executive office of the ODM for the support towards the success of the day.

“We have had a successful day here at Hope Patience and Joy Children and Rescue Centre due to the team work,” he stated

Mr. Wangila used the moment to also call on young people to register and become members of the party.

According to him, the youth are key in strengthening and revamping the party.

He assured the National office and Nakuru County that as Nakuru Youth League, they will continue to work closely towards ensuring a strong party.

“I want to appeal to youth to continue registering and join ODM. We will work with national leaders to ensure the party stronger than before,” stated the Youth League Leader.

Sentiments echoed by ODM Organizing Secretary Gilgil Subcounty Ouma Silas Ochieng.

He termed the visit as a noble course through mobilization of resources.

The move, he added that is clear gesture that youth are embracing the party and leadership.

“I want to thank our leader Suleiman Wangila and all those who supported the initiative. This means that our youth are embracing the party. We just appeal to our senior leaders in the party to continue guiding us,” stated Ochieng.

On her part Maureen Achieng revealed that the event was planned in two months.

She added that as ODM Nakuru Youth League, they will continue to do such gestures in various Children’s homes.

“It just calls for selflessness to achieve such and as members of ODM Nakuru County Youth League we have agreed we shall be planning more of such,” she said.

Director of Hope Patience and Joy Children and Rescue centre Mr. Norman Ngugi lauded the ODM Nakuru County Youth League for visiting and having time with the children.

He revealed that the centre that has 48 children of age bracket 4 months and 17 , relys on well-wishers.

“We thank God the ODM party Nakuru Youth decided to visit the children. It is a gesture that cannot be forgotten by this children,” he said.

With festive season on, Mr. Ngugi called on well-wishers to also spread love by visiting the centre and give hope to the children.
