Police officer suspected of killing woman in a Nakuru bar denies charges

Police Constable Nicholas Musyoka Musau who was charged with the shooting and killing of two women in Nakuru City December, 2023 has denied the charges.

Musyoka was araigned on Wednesday January 10, 2024 before Justice Samuel Mohochi under beefed up security.

The officer is alleged to have used his official duty firearm to shoot and kill Ann Maina and Laura Kwasira.

The suspect’s lawyer, David Mongeri had requested that his client be released on bond arguing that he had been in custody for more than 4 weeks.

However, the prayer was opposed by Prosecution side arguing that if releasing the suspect would see him interfere with witnesses in the case.

The prosecution added that the suspect might also disappear.

Justice Mohochi however ruled that the prosecution side had not given any tangible reasons that would see the suspect not released on bond.

The court ruled that the suspect be detained at Nakuru Central Police Station until Wednesday next week when determination shall be made his bond release.

The case shall be mentioned on Wednesday January 17, 2024.
