Plans are underway for the burial of Lakeview ward MCA Peter Karanja Mburu who perished in a road accident on Sunday.
Preliminary reports indicate that the departed MCA will be laid to rest on Friday.
Mburu lost his life after his vehicle lost control hitting a tree at Diatomite area in Gilgil before it rolled off the road.
Already a committee is in place planing for the burial to be held in his farm in Naivasha.
The burial ceremony might however be attended by just afew people due to the guidelines on COVID-19.
Speaking to this writer on phone,Kabazi Ward MCA Dr Peter Mbae who is a member of the committee planning the same says they will on Tuesday submit guidelines proposals to the Nakuru County Commissioner.
According to Mbae who was a close friend of the late MCA Mburu,the guidelines will touch on compliance with Covid-19 preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
“I can confirm that we shall be presenting the guidelines proposals to the County commissioner tomorrow detailing some of the things we intend to put in place to ensure compliance,” said Dr Mbae.
He added that there are plans to have a requime mass in Lakeview ward before the burial.
It will be recalled on Sunday Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika who addressed at Umash Funeral Home in Nakuru where the body of the departed MCA is lying called on leaders to join hands on giving a descent sent off to MCA Mburu.
Kihika while noting that there are guidelines on COVID-19 called on the county government of Nakuru to ensure proper plans are in place for the burial of MCA Mburu.
“I know there is COVID-19 a d the guidelines but as leaders this is the time we work together and see how we can ensure we give Karanja Mburu a descent sent off as we comply with the Ministry of health guidelines” said Kihika.
