Parents of teenagers urged to be extra-cautious during festive season

Parents, especially those of teenagers, have been called upon to be extra vigilant of their children over the long holidays.

Principal Secretary Public health and professional standards Mary Muthoni, says data in their possession shows that the children are susceptible to peer pressure and it being a long holiday, there are vices.

The PS is now calling on the church and community leadership to come up with activities that will keep the young ones busy, noting that there is also a danger of pregnancies during this period.

She also notes the dangers of drugs and substance abuse at a time she’s accusing manufacturers of modifying their products, making them more attractive even to the young ones.
