One more COVID-19 case confirmed in Nakuru

One more COVID-19 case has been confirmed in Nakuru county.

Nakuru county CECM for Health Dr.Kariuki Gichuki in a statement to newsrooms stated that the new case is that of a truck driver.

“We started testing long-distance truck drivers at our Maai Mahiu Health centre a week ago.Results of one of the people tested at the facility turned positive for COVID-19” said Dr.Gichuki.

The CECM adding that the 27-year-old male was a co-driver in a truck headed to Kitale from Mombasa.

He was traced in Kiratina area in Nakuru East Subcounty and has been taken to PGH COVID-19 isolation and management facility.

The CECM however assuring residents that the surveillance team is on site and has initiated contact tracing.

So far right people have been taken to the Nakuru quarantine facility.

He urged the residents to continue making use of the emergency numbers (0724320853,0722337018) for the county ambulances to pick them should they develop symptoms or suspect they ha e come into content with am infected person.
