Nyandarua Boarding School Alumni Gives Back With Sh70 Million Digital Library

An alumni association has launched an initiative to establish a state-of-the-art digital library at the school, aiming to provide high-quality resources and educational opportunities in Laikipia and Nyandarua counties.

The Nyandarua Boarding Primary School Alumni is ambitiously seeking support, to raise over Ksh70 million from its members, current students, and well-wishers to actualize the dream.

According to Jacob Mugeni, the association’s chairperson, the NBPS Digital Library project will align the region with the government’s efforts to enhance digital skills and drive grassroots innovation.

“I am proud to witness the growth of the alumni community throughout the past 13 years. This visionary project will offer endless opportunities for thousands of students and the local community,” he stated.

He added that the NBPS Digital Library is designed to provide top-quality educational tools and resources for students and the community, ensuring their success in the digital era.

The school’s headteacher, Mr. Charles Mbugua, recognized and emphasized the importance of integrating a digital library into the school’s infrastructure to enhance the educational landscape.

“With its wide range of resources and accessibility, a digital library surpasses physical limitations, offering students limitless opportunities for learning and exploration,” he asserted.

Mr Mbugua further noted that embracing this modern approach to education would empower his students with invaluable knowledge and equip them with the essential skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive digital world.

The project lead, Miss Magdalene Wanjugu, expressed her unwavering dedication to ensuring that every aspect of the project is meticulously executed, paving the way for its timely completion.

“There is no doubt that the digital library project will be delivered on schedule, ushering in a new era of educational excellence for our school community and beyond,” she assured.

She stated that her strong commitment to excellence, and the headteacher’s exemplary leadership skills, have instilled confidence in the alumni association, teachers, community, and stakeholders.

The students, themselves, were filled with joy as they eagerly anticipated the transformative impact of the digital library initiative, a notable shift in their learning experience.
