Differences between Bahati Mp Kimani Ngunjiri and his Subukia counterpart Kinuthia Gachobe over the handling of the welfare of victims of Patel dam tragedy in Solai may be far from over after Kimani stood ground that he will continue assisting the victims.
Kimani who spoke in Kiamaina in Bahati on Wednesday said that although Solai is in Subukia constituency he has no apologies for helping the tragedy victims.
“Disaster knows no boundaries and that is why friends came from as far as Nairobi to offer a helping hand to the tragedy victims. When I offer help to Solai victims I do so as a friend and a neighbor” said Ngunjiri.
He noted that Gachobe should not politicize the issue as he { Kimani } cannot complain when Gachobe offers help to the people of Bahati when they are in need.
But Gachobe on the other hand as accused Kimani of taking political advantage of the plight of Solai people.
He said that the government has elaborate plans to cater for Solai victims and as such Kimani should not dupe them into signing documents with the Patel family against their wish.
He said that Kimani should respect him as the elected MP of the area adding that he has at no single time meddled into the affairs of Bahati.
