Nakuru’s Jayne Osanya to fly Kenya’s flag globally in upcoming Chess competition

Jayne Awuor Osanya of Gilgil Hills Academy in Nakuru County is set to represent Kenya in an International Chess Competition in Kazakhstan.

The County Government, through the Directorate of Youth, hosted a send-off ceremony for her.

According to County Youth Director, Josephat Kimemia, the ceremony was organized to celebrate and motivate Jayne as she prepares to fly the County’s flag on the global stage.

During the ceremony, Kimemia presented a gift to the young player as a token of encouragement.

The parents expressed gratitude to the County Government for the support, noting that it serves as great motivation for their daughter.

Jayne’s chess journey began in 2023 when she was only six years old, and she has continued to shine in the sport ever since.

The County Government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika has wished Jayne great success as she represents not only Gilgil Hills Academy and Nakuru County, but the nation on the international stage in Kazakhstan.
