Nakuru scoops 9 trophies in the USAID Tujenge Jamii Awards for best services in HIV Programs

Nakuru County has scooped 9 trophies in the USAID Tujenge Jamii Awards for best services in HIV Programs.

The County has demonstrated outstanding leadership, winning nine out of the 13 categories ranked in the USAID Tujenge Jamii awards for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in HIV programs.

According to the County Health Department, these accolades highlight the county’s dedication to improving healthcare outcomes, with 45 healthcare facilities participating in the CQI process.

The CQI program focuses on enhancing service delivery across key areas, including HIV care and treatment, testing, prevention, and TB services.

The achievement was marked in a two-day forum in which healthcare workers who have been at the forefront of identifying gaps in service delivery, analyzing data, and implementing action points to address areas needing improvement presented their progress and strategies for improving service delivery.

The County Coordinator for the HIV Program, Rachel Kiuna highlighted the importance of CQI in achieving better outcomes.

“We are proud of the healthcare workers and the leadership teams who have worked tirelessly to elevate the standards of care. These trophies reflect their dedication to improving health services for our clients,” she said.

The awards reflect improved service delivery and also contributes to enhanced quality of care for residents of Nakuru, the direct recipient of these health interventions.

It should be noted that the CQI process has led to improved care quality and enhanced health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Nakuru County is setting the bar high in healthcare, ensuring that these improvements continue to positively impact the lives of residents for years to come.
