Residents of Nakuru county have been assured of maximum security ahead of festive season.
Speaking on Tuesday after holding a top security team meeting, County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo noted that all security teams are up to the task to ensure security.
He added that measures are in place to ensure especially towards the festive season as well as during national examination period.
“Our officers are up to the task and we would like to assure residents of security during this period” he said.
Mwanzo used the opportunity to also call on members of the public to work closely with security team towards a crime free society.
The meeting was also attended by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika who reiterated the County Government’s commitment towards ensuring security.
Kihika was categorical that without security, no development can be realized.
“Even the development agenda we have for Nakuru residents will be zero if there is no security” said Kihika.
While lauding the security team in Nakuru for taming the criminal gangs such as confirm, Kihika called on elected political leaders to work closely with police.
She noted that though security is not devolved, it should be at the heart of every leader.
According to her, no political leader should sympathize with criminal groupings.
“We have agreed as leaders to work closely with to work together with police.That no political class moving forward shall side with criminal groupings” she stated.
