Nakuru City continues to become an education hub with several institutions of higher learning choosing to pitch tent here.
The latest is Nakuru International College Nakuru.
The college that will open doors to students as from Wednesday January 10, is situated within the Nakuru CBD along Kenyatta Avenue, Larvan Paradise Building.
The institution will be offering Diploma, Certificate and Artisan courses.
The courses fall under School of Business, School of Education, School of Journalism, School of Hospitality & Tourism, School of Beauty & Fashion, School of Health & Applied Sciences, School of Engineering and Computer studies.
In addition, short courses such as computer packages, customer care services, Public Relations and Public administration among others will be offered.
For Diploma courses, entry grade is C minus(C-), Certificate courses D plain(D) while Artisan Courses KCPE, E or D minus(D-).
As the motto goes ‘Championing Academic Excellence, the Institution’s Deputy Principal Stephen Kimetto says they chose Nakuru due to the fact that it is well centred connecting Nairobi and Western part of the country.
“Nakuru is the newest city and is best placed for the education sector and is the centre of our target students from neighboring counties such as Bomet, Baringo, Laikipia,Nyandarua, Kericho as well as Western counties,” he says.
As the saying goes there is power in a name and a meaning to it, Kimetto reveals that the Name ‘Nakuru International College’ is significant as the Institution will be partnering with other international institutions and examination bodies.
He adds that in future, he envisions the College transform into a full University.
“We look forward to expanding and in future it becomes a University,” he says.
Computer classes are set to commence on Wednesday January 10, 2024.
Classes for other courses will commence in a week’s time.
Administrator Wanjiru Muturi on her part has urged students from Nakuru and other neighbouring counties to come and enroll at the Institution that is aiming to make a significance change in the education sector.
