He pointed out that for finger prints and face, there are a times inacuracy, but for iris it is more specific to individuals.

According to Dr. Melle, this is one of the measures IEBC has taken to address the challenges that have been there in identification of voters.

He assured Nakuru residents that with the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System(KIEMS) kits, the data is safe and that IEBC continues to work towards ensuring integrity of the election process.

“The iris capture is towards ensuring acuracy and integrity in identification of voters,” he stated.

He used the moment to call on all those who are yet to register as voterd to turn up and register so that they can exercise their political and rights vome 2027.

According to him, stastistics indicate low number of new voter registration in Nakuru County.

“There is very low new voter registration in Nakuru until we wonder does it mean that sinve 2022 there are no new voters in Nakuru. We are therefore appealing to Nakuru residents who are yet to register to ensure they come out and vote,” he said.
