Democracy for Citizens Party Nakuru Branch Secretary General Simon Sangale Ole Nasieku has called on IEBC to ensure free and fair by-elections on Thursday.
In an interview, Nasieku called on IEBC to curb violence in the by-elections slated for Thursday.
“This is a litmus test for IEBC especially the chairman Ethekon. Let him ensure free and fair elections,” stated Nasieku.
He faulted the government for withdrawing security details of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.
Nasieku also recalled recent meeting in Narok where DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua faced threats.
According to Nasieku, DCP leaders just like any other party should be given fair ground.
He urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to strictly enforce the electoral code of conduct and guarantee a peaceful environment in the by-elections.
According to Nasieku, the IEBC should stamp its authority and ensure that all participants uphold the principles of free, fair and credible elections.
