Nakuru County to work closely with NGAO in addressing security issues

The County Government of Nakuru will work closely with National Government Administration Officers in addressing security challenges facing various urban areas.

This was revealed during a meeting that brought together County Government and NGAO.

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika attended the meeting that was convened by County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara to explore ways of working together in executing cross cutting functions between two levels of Government.

The meeting saw both levels of government agree to collaborate better on licensing of liquor outlets, fighting the proliferation of gangs in Nakuru City and other urban areas, installation of security lights to boost security, coordinating implementation of projects, planning of towns and enforcement of gambling guidelines to stop illegal groups preying on innocent people to rob them off money.

Speaking during the meeting, Governor Kihika urged NGAO team to work closely with Nakuru Sub County and Ward teams in the service of residents of Nakuru, solving land problems and promoting peace and unity in Nakuru County.

“Whereas we are distinct governments, we are obligated to work together in the service of our people,” she stated.

The meeting was graced by Chief of Staff Peter Ketyenya, Political Advisor Joseph Rutto, Deputy County Commissioners, Assistant County Commissioners, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs.
