Nakuru County Secretary explains why Health docket receives Lion’s share of budget

The county government of Nakuru has prioritized health matters, Nakuru County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura has affirmed.

The CS says the County Government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika continues to give priority to health issues through budgetary allocation.

Speaking during a live interview with NTV in Nakuru, Mwaura was categorical that Governor Kihika has health at heart, hence the reason why the docket has continued to receive lion’s share of the budget.

He revealed that over 30 percent of Nakuru Budget goes to health docket affirming the commitment of Governor Kihika to enhance health in Nakuru.

Mwaura used the moment to highlight some of the key projects being implemented in the health docket among them the upgrade of health facilities in all subcounties.

“Health is a docket that the Governor has at heart because she believes that healthy citizens will contribute greatly to the economy,” he stated.

It should be noted that when Governor Kihika assumed office, she vowed to work on improving the healthcare in Nakuru County.

Kihika has continued to allocate a significant portion of the county budget towards it.
This commitment is further emphasized by strategic partnerships towards upgrading facilities.
These efforts aim to improve the quality, affordability, and accessibility of healthcare services in Nakuru.
