Nakuru county partners with World Diabetes Foundation in rolling out Non Communicable Diseases Digital Data platform

Nakuru County has partnered with the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) to roll out the Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) digital platform.

This will enhance the data management in Nakuru County.

The County is currently training County management teams and facility in charges from Kuresoi North and Rongai Sub County with support from Medtronic Labs.

This initiative aims to integrate Diabetes and Hypertension prevention and control into primary health care model that has so far been fully rolled out across the County as a flagship project under the County Integrated Development Plan.

Speaking during the training, County Executive Committee Member for Health, Roselyn Mungai, highlighted the significance of this model in enhancing the primary healthcare system.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s manifesto, prioritizing the strengthening of support groups for chronic disease management,” Mungai stated.

The County Director for Medical Services Dr. Daniel Wainaina and the County NCDs coordinator, Jackson Cheruiyot said that the training will be rolled out to the rest of the County in the next phase.
