Nakuru County launches fumigation exercise to contain COVID-19

The County Government of Nakuru has launched massive fumigation exercise on  businesses premises and walkways to contain the spread it COVID-19 pandemic.

The exercise is conducted by fire fighters and officers from the public health department using the County fire engine.

According to County Health CECM Dr. Gichuki Kariuki,excercise will continue in all other urban centers across all sub-Counties.

He added that the spraying will be carried out at night because all businesses are closed and no human movement due to 7pm-5am curfew.

“We are doing it at night since there are no activities in town during that time.The exercise will spread out to all the sub counties” he said.

This even as the the number of positive cases for corona virus in Kenya rose to 126 Saturday, after four new cases were confirmed.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the four new cases include 3 Kenyans and a Pakistani.

“In the last 24 hours, we have had four positive cases. Three are male while one is female,” Kagwe said, updating Friday’s figures from 122.
