Nakuru City Board to address all urban-related challenges

Nakuru City Board has assured City residents that all challenges within urban settings shall be addressed.

Board Chair Stephen Muli says the Board is committed towards ensuring challenges that come with development and urban planning are addressed amicably.

Muli spoke on Monday March 18, 2024 when he officially opened a week long workshop for the Board.

The aim of the workshop is help tackle crucial issues related to urban development and planning, aligning with their mandate under the Urban Areas and Cities Act (UACA) 2011.

Muli added that the Board is committed towards advancing Governor Susan Kihika’s agenda on development.

The workshop that is also attended by City Manager Gitau Thabanja, saw discussions on day one focus on project identification, planning, and implementation in the city, particularly aligning strategies with the recently launched County Integrated Development Plan 2023-2027 and the City’s Integrated Development Plan (IDeP).

Additionally, the workshop successfully reviewed the second phase of the Kenya Urban Support Program conditions, as the City awaits its rollout projected for July 2024.
