Nakuru National Agricultural show has continued to attract more exhibitors and international guests making it more of an international show.
Already a delegation from Argentina was received on Wednesday and more expected from Uganda on Friday.
Speaking on Thursday after visiting various exhibition stands, Nakuru County Deputy Governor Dr.Erick Korir attributed this to the more innovation in agriculture that is being exhibited at the show.
He called on farmers to make good use of the opportunity available at the various exhibition stands to learn on new innovation and technology in agriculture.
“This year for the first time we have more exhibitors and even international guest and this means that the Nakuru show is now becoming international. We appeal to farmers to make good use of the opportunity” said Dr.Korir.
Similar sentiments echoed by Nakuru County CECM for Agriculture Dr.Immaculate Maina who also lauded various departments and exhibitors who have shown up for this year’s show.
While noting the new technologies and variety of crops being exhibited at various agricultural and livestock stands, the CECM called on farmers in Nakuru county to make good use of the opportunity.She added that this will help them address the challenges they are facing and also help improve their farming.
The CECM adding that even after the show the County government of Nakuru is committed towards more training for farmers.
“As a county we are well represented at the show and we look forward to farmers coming to learn. As a county we shall also continue even after the show to train farmers” said Dr.Maina.
The ASK Branch Nakuru Chairperson Ms Margaret Anami also calling on residents to make good use of the opportunity to learn what innovation and technology has to offer in matters agriculture.
The Nakuru National Agricultural Show which commenced on 3rd July is expected to end on Sunday 7th July.
On Friday Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri s expected as the Chief Guest while on Saturday Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Joel Maina Kairu is expected to be the Chief Guest.
