Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara was on Friday July 18, 2025 released on a Kshs 50,000 personal bond pending judgement on her application not to take plea on the charges preferred on her.
The Lawmaker was arrested on Thursday at her Maraigucu home in Naivasha and taken to Nairobi DCI headquarters.
She was later booked at Pangani Police station.
On Friday, MP Kihara appeared at Milimani Law courts accompanied by her legal team.
According to charge sheet seen by famousnakuru.co.ke, the Lawmaker is facing charges of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace contrary to section 94(1) of the Penal Code, Cap 63 of the Laws of Kenya.
The Charge sheet further indicates that the Lawmaker is said to have uttered some sentiments on July 8 while in Nairobi in relation to demonstrations in Naivasha claiming that goons were transported in NYS bus to Karagita and MahiMaiu and told off President William Ruto over a move to destroy the country.
The Lawmaker through her Lawyers filed an application not to take plea.
She was released on a Ksh. 50,000 personal bond pending judgment of her application not to take plea on the charges preferred on her.
The judgment on the application not to take plea will be delivered on July 9, 2025 at 9:30 am.
