Mwanzo issues directive to Sub County Commanders on night patrols

In what is seen as one of the measures to combat crime in Nakuru, County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo has directed all Sub county Police Commanders and their deputies to fully get involved in night patrols.

Mwanzo says all the senior officers in Sub counties have a mandate to ensure their territories are safe.

“I have directed my officers at Sub county level to ensure proper patrols especially at night when some gangs decide to carry out their activities in some parts of Nakuru” he said.

He noting that drugs trafficking is still a challenge with those engaging in the same activities coming up with measures to avert arrest.

The County Police Commander was however quick to note that the security team will not relent in the fight against drugs and substance abuse as well as illicit brew.

Mwanzo sounded a stern warning to those involved in such activities that their days are numbered.

“They are now using all means to avoid being arrested but I want to assure them sooner than later they will be in our custody” said Mwanzo.

His sentiments come barely a day after Bhang worth Kshs.11.5 milion was nabbed in Kuresoi South along the Kiptagich-Nakuru Road.
