Mututho vows to address the plight of Nakuru street urchins

Immediate former Nacada Chairman John Mututho has called on Both National and County Governments to make tremendous interventions in addressing the plight of street families and Alcohol and drug addicts.
Addressing media at his Jomec Rehabilitation Centre on Friday, when he hosted lunch for street Families from various sub counties of Nakuru county, Mututho said if the issue of Drug addiction and street families can be addressed then it will be a boost to the society as well as economy.
“This is just the beginning of everything and am sure if we can have the issue of street families addressed as well as that of drug addicts then we shall have a boost to our economy” he said.
The Former Nacada chair also revealed that he intends to treat 10,000 street families by December 2017 hence declare Nakuru free of street families.
He added that he used the same trend when he was MP for Naivasha and Naivasha was free of street families.
“Within the course of 2017 before December I will have treated other 10,000 street families and declare Nakuru free of street families. I did the same in Naivasha and there were no street families not until King Kihagi who is doing his thing and now they are back” he said.
He said until the issue of street children is addressed, there can never be development in Nakuru County and the nation at large.
During the ceremony held at Jomec Rehabilitation centre, more than 40 former drug addicts who are now transformed through treatment at the centre were also awarded with certificates.
