The Prime Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, has held consultations with his counterpart, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania, regarding the welfare of Kenyan nationals residing in Tanzania.

During the engagement, the Prime Cabinet Secretary emphasized the importance
of ensuring the safety and security of all foreign nationals, including members of
the Kenyan diaspora community, who continue to contribute to Tanzania’s
economic development through legitimate business activities and professional
services.

In addition, Mudavadi noted that there were reported incidents where rights of several Kenyans have been infringed and these specific cases have been formally submitted to the Tanzanian government for action.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary expressed appreciation for Tanzania’s assurances

Both Ministers underscored their shared determination to maintain the exemplary
cooperation that has characterized Kenya-Tanzania relations for decades.
