From informing others to processing her diagnosis, Ms Margaret Mithanga has turned her battle with Thrombosis into a book entitled Battling Thrombosis.

Ms Margaret was diagnosed with Thrombosis at the age of 12 when she was still naive.
Thrombosis is a condition where a blood clot forms either in an artery or vein or clotting of the blood in a part of the circulatory system.
Her battle with Thrombosis has been a journey of ups and downs especially in the current society.
The book is a poignant story of Ms Margaret’s resilience in the battle with Thrombosis.
At one particular time, the condition saw her quit hospitality industry despite having studied Hospitality Management to avert other complications.
“I was diagnosed when I was in class 6 and I was told that I should keep off sports because it would make the situation hard. At one particular time I was told that I am bewitched,” she stated.

Margaret Mithanga launched the book on Sunday August 10, 2025 at a colourful event held at Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Rongai Presided over by Rev Moses Too.
In an interview with famousnakuru.co.ke, Ms Margaret was categorical that after what she went through, she decided to share and and be an inspiration to many.

The book, she notes has taken her some time to reach the launch.
“Through this book, I would like to inform and create awareness about Thrombosis and treatment. I believe that through my book I can put the reader in the shoes of a Thrombosis patient and what they go through so that the society can understand,” she stated.
She is very grateful to her parents for standing with her during her journey with Thrombosis.
Ms Margaret calls on society not to be judgemental but embrace every condition that comes up, and for those struggling with Thrombosis, she advices them to seek medication but moreso join support groups.
“To the society, there is no need to be judgemental on any complications that people have. God has a reason and just like the woman in the Bible who bled for 12 years, but at the right time she was healed,” she said.

Daniel Kamau who is the Chairperson Royal Family Foundation Group in Rongai where Ms Margaret is a member says they have always supported her in the journey.
He pointed out that the launch of the book is an encouragement even to the group that nothing is impossible.
“We have always been in support as she is one of our members. The launch of the book is really an inspiration to many,” stated Kamau.

Margaret’s Father John Mithanga lauded her daughter for the gesture to write and launch a book.
He noted that the move gives him and others more hope, hence called on parents to continue offering support to their children.
“My daughter has been through a lot until we got a doctor who handled the complication. We thank God that she is okay now and has been advised to take a lot of water and eat well. I urge parents to stand with their children especially when they are diagnosed with any complications,” he stated.

The launch of the book was also attended by Mr and Mrs Mwangi- a former Lecturer at Egerton University who termed Ms Margaret’s resilience as a challenge to many, Dr Momanyi who had been of help to Ms Margaret, member of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Rongai as well as AIC Rongai and elders.
The book goes for Kshs 1000 and can be accessed via 0759865426 or margaretmithanga@gmail.com for order.
